Neil Carmichael, MP for Stroud, visited specialist healthcare company X-Tech Medical, part of the Xograph Group, which is based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire in the UK.
During a tour of the new headquarters which is based on a 2.8 acre site and comprises an administration building and behind this an R & D, manufacturing and warehouse facility, Mr Carmichael was able to see the whole process of product development from concept and design, through prototyping and on to full scale manufacturing. He met with Group CEO Peter Staff, General Manager Mike Biro and Neil Cant who is responsible for product development and manufacturing.
Neil Carmichael commented, “It is very encouraging to see X-Tech Medical providing local jobs, manufacturing at the highest level and exporting around the world. With continued investment in this sector, I hope that more local firms will follow suit.”
Peter Staff said: “As a Group we are delighted to be manufacturing medical devices in the Stroud Valleys, particularly as these type of products until now were predominantly manufactured in the Far East. I would also like to say how pleased we were to receive excellent support from Stroud Council for our plans to upgrade the site.”
